In 2005, my husband Brian and I bought what was then called Mountain Leather & General Store. The store had been a favorite part of the Athens community for over 25 years. We have redesigned the store and enhanced and increased our product offerings. We still offer fine silver jewelry and leather items for which the store was acclaimed. It is important to us that we maintain a high quality of product, service, and selection.

Our Staff:

Celia Summers has been employed at this store for eight years. Celia and I have been friends since our children were young. Her experience was indispensable to me during the transition. I am very grateful to have her smiling face behind the counter every morning. She is happily married to her college sweetheart and has three sons.

Whitney Jenkins is a retail merchandising major at OU. We like having her opinion and input.

Hannah Hinkle is a new at Mountain Laurel. She is a freshman at OU, and has lots of spunk and energy.

The really tall, handsome guy is Chris Uihlien. It is so nice to have a man around the store.

Working as a flight attendant for many years is quite a different routine than owning a retail business, but I love it. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful group of assistants here at Mountain Laurel, and the support of my terrific husband, Brian, and children, Jessica and Bobby. I am thankful to all our loyal customers and the new friends we make daily.
